For Release April 23, 2007 Classics on the Mountain Music Festival announces its 3rd year of Programming for Festival 2007, June 12-16, 2007 hosted at national historic landmark, Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York. Join Artistic Director /Composer Igor Raykhelson and guest orchestra in residence The Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra as they offer 5 nights of magical concerts under the timber framed roof of the Ice Pavilion at Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York, in the historic Hudson Valley. OPENING NIGHT on June 12 at 9 PM will feature a reprise of the sold out Carnegie Hall Concert entitled; Modern Romance--Jazz meets Classical. Featuring Jazz saxophone, virtuoso Igor Butman, composer/pianist Igor Raykhelson, Julian Milkis, clarinet, Elena Revich, violin and Boris Andrianov on cello, this unique Cross-Over Concert had audiences and critics raving all the way from Moscow to New York City, from Boston to Connecticut. A unique evening of classical and jazz music and new works by composer Igor Raykhelson, this concert is a crowd pleaser, creating an intimate atmosphere of musical exchange and artistry between the musicians and the audience. The Festival continues on the rest of the week offering traditional Chamber Concerts. Each performance will feature works by such composers as Chopin, Bach, Tchaikovsky, and Vivaldi and highlight the artistry of such musicians as Grammy-nominated violinist, Mark Peskanov, cellist Boris Andrianov, violinist, Elena Revich and individual members of Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra. The American premier of Concerto for Clarinet, Strings and Jazz Trio in E Flat by Composer Igor Raykhelson on the final night of the Festival on Saturday, June 16 will feature Julian Milkis, clarinet, acknowledged to be one of the world's greatest clarinetists today and the only pupil of the late, great Benny Goodman and The Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra.
